If you’ve been online for a while, you don’t need me to tell you that a steady flow of traffic — or visitors to your site — is the single most import business objective. If you aren’t running a business and you only want to keep an electronic diary for your friends and family to read, then traffic doesn’t matter. Those folks are going to visit your site anyway. But if you are running a business, traffic and lots of it is critical.
As long as you are creating high-value content, you can readily use social media marketing to drive traffic. People who share your interests will always be looking for new ideas, articles and resources to share. And when your content gets shared, you’ll have a steady supply of traffic coming in your front door.

If you frequent sites like Yelp.com or Tripadvisor.com, you know that traditional brick and mortar businesses just can’t escape social media through online reviews. People are going to be talking about you (good or bad) whether you like it or not. So, you might as well join the conversation.
Personally, I’ve noticed that the most successful companies are the ones that address customer service issues head on. It makes them look on top of the business and brand.
The same goes for you and your online business. When you get comments, good or bad, about your site or service on social media, then get out there and get involved in the discussion. It can only make you look more credible and responsible for the site and business you are hosting.
Get Customers Buzzing
Just as you want to get other folks in your industry interested in and talking about you, the same goes for your customers. In keeping, try your best to create compelling, interesting content, graphics and pictures that practically beg readers to share with everyone they know.
